Videogame Programming with Algebra

Bootstrap, already being offered right now by hundreds teachers nationwide, is coming to Rhode Island!

We are proud to partner with the Rhode Island Department of Education, as one of the founding programs of CS4RI. Thanks to RIDE's support, we are delighted offer an workshop to math and computer science teachers across the ocean state. If you're a middle- or high-school teacher who is looking for an evidence-based approach to blending computer science and math, you'll find Bootstrap to be a natural fit.

Registration (May 1st deadline!): $50 fee to reserve your seat. (This will be returned upon completion of the workshop.)

Cost: Thanks to the generosity of RIDE, the cost for the workshop is completely FREE if:

  • You are a public school teacher in RI, and..
  • You are the first teacher from your school to register

For everyone else, the PD cost is $1000. But thanks to the generosity of the Infosys Foundation, teachers can get $500 in matching funds by setting up a Donors Choose page for your registration. You can start this process by clicking here. We are grateful to the Infosys Foundation for their continued support of Bootstrap!

This covers take-home teacher materials and 21 hours of professional development for each participant. For those who wish to cancel their registration, partial refunds will be available until April 15th. Please note that refunds will not be available after this date!

What to bring: A laptop computer, and something to write with.

Meals: To make this workshop accessible and affordable to all educators, breakfast and lunch will not be provided. There are many food choices nearby on Thayer Street, offering a wide variety of options for every price range and taste.

Where: We are grateful to the Brown University Dept of Computer Science, for generously hosting this workshop. See the Brown University CS Website for directions
